Dal Makhani is one of the most popular punjabi recipe. It has become popular vegetarian dish in all parts of India with even few naming it as Maa ki Dal. <br /> <br />Ingredients: <br /> <br />- 1cup whole black gram <br />- 2tbsp red kidney beans <br />- 2tbsp bengal gram <br />- 3tbsp clarified butter (ghee) <br />- 1tbsp cumin seeds (jeera) <br />- 1/4 tsp Asafetida <br />- 1 medium onion chopped <br />- 2 green chili <br />- 1tbsp ginger & garlic paste <br />- 4 tomatoes puree <br />- 1tsp garam masala powder <br />- 2tsp red chili powder <br />- 1tsp kasoori methi powder <br />- 2tbsp tomato ketchup <br />- salt to taste <br />- 1/4cup fresh cream <br /> <br />Method: <br /> <br />- Wash dals, soak both dals and beans together for overnight, discard water from the dals and add 6 cups of fresh water <br />- pressure cook for some 2 whistle and remove from fire, after pressure drops keep it aside <br />- heat ghee, add cumin seeds, asafetida, chopped onion, and sauté well <br />- add green chilies chopped, ginger-garlic paste and tomato puree, garam masala powder, red chili powder, kasoori methi powder, tomato ketchup and salt to taste cook until ghee separates <br />- add soaked dal and mix well <br />- simmer on low flame for 10 to 15 minutes, stirring & mashing the dal occasionally. <br />- add fresh cream and mix well <br />- remove from fire and serve hot. <br /> <br />Subscribe: http://www.youtube.com/subscription_center?add_user=teamworkfood <br /> <br /> <br />For More Video Log onto: http://www.youtube.com/subscription_center?add_user=teamworkfood <br /> <br />Copyrights: Teamwork Entertainment.
