Surat : After postponing it for more than couple of months, standing committee of Surat Municipal Corporation (SMC) has decided to renovate and repair indoor stadium located in Athwalines area of the city at the cost of Rs 22 crore. Nirav Shah, chairman of standing committee of SMC said, "The stadium was built in 1988 at the cost of Rs 24 crore. The repair and renovation work worth Rs. 22 crore will be finished before Navratri." The other side opposition claimed that, Named Pandit Deen Dayal Upadhayay Indoor stadium, the facility, predominantly built for sporting events, has been used for cultural events and functions.
