Following an appalling attack on the U.S. Ambassador to Korea Mark Lippert last week,... several countries have requested the Korean police to extend protection for their diplomatic delegation.<br />Korea National Police Agency chief Kang Sin-myeong made the announcement at Wednesday's government-ruling party meeting... and added that extra protection for diplomatic delegations in Korea will be provided.<br />Security guards will be deployed,... even without prior request,... if circumstances are deemed dangerous.<br />Kang added that officers started providing 24-hour security to the U.S. Ambassador and his wife,... immediately after the attack,... and also sent security guards to protect the Japanese ambassador to Korea.
