In the Venezuelan and Bolivian capitals, thousands protested recent threats by Barack Obama against Venezuela. In the United States, John Kelly, commander of U.S. southern command told a press conference that an unconstitutional change of government in Venezuela was possible. Brazilian president Dilma Rousseff insisted the right to peaceful protest must be respected, ahead of protests this sunday organized by right-wing groups. Costa rica's Turrialba volcano sent ash and smoke into the air, prompting evacuations as well as road and airport closures. IMF officials recognized that the conditions for Ukraine's 17.5 billion dollar bail out could put the country at risk.
