The Ice Bucket Challenge may have found its uncomfortable successor in the Twizzler Challenge. <br /> <br />The challenge is essentially that spaghetti scene in Lady and the Tramp — two people snack on a single Twizzler until their mouths meet. Kathie Lee Gifford and Matt Lauer demonstrated just how supremely awkward it is on this morning's Today show. <br />It started during Jon Stewart's Night of Too Many Stars, a fundraiser benefitting autism programs across the country. A viewer challenged Today host Willie Geist to take the Twizzler Challenge with Orange is the New Black's Uzo Aduba and the pair obliged. <br /> <br />Geist, bitten by the Twizzler makeout bug, took the challenge again with Meredith Vieira on her show. Since the entertainment value of people sort-of-but-not-really kissing Willie Geist is limited, Lauer and Gifford stepped up to the licorice plate and really went at it. <br />All of Today's Twizzler eaters donated to programs that provide help for people with autism, and they hope you'll join them in the cause. <br /> <br />Just pick up Twizzlers at the grocery store and find someone who won't mind being cringeworthy on camera with you and you're set.
