Mexico's National Human Rights Commission has announced that it will investigate possible violations of the rights of day laborers in the community of San Quintin in the state of Baja California and abuses in Comondu in Baja California Sur. Around 10,000 workers went out on strike last week in San Quintin, demanding respect for workers' rights, protection, and an end to sexual harassment by ranch owners. In Comondu, around 200 indigenous workers charge that they have been held in modern day slave conditions. teleSUR
