<p>Robert Serry spent seven years as the United Nations coordinator for the Middle East Peace Process. He has just stepped down, delivering a gloomy final briefing to the UN Security Council. In an interview with FRANCE 24's Armen Georgian, he deplores the situation in Gaza as a collective failure. "I leave the Strip in an even worse situation than before I arrived in 2008", he says.</p><br />Robert Serry also calls for a renewed commitment to build the foundation of a sustainable Palestinian state.
