Gunmen have launched an attack on a university campus in north east Kenya.<br /><br /> Heavy gunfire and explosions have been heard at Garissa University College close the frontier with Somalia. <br /><br /> It is believed two security guards have been killed while two police officers and a student are being treated for gunshot wounds.<br /><br /> Unconfirmed reports suggest the attackers have taken hostages.<br /><br /> Witnesses say the assailants targeted a mosque during morning prayers. <br /><br /> No group has claimed responsibility, but Islamic militants Al-Shabab are active in the area.<br /><br /> More to follow.
