Yemen: No halt to Saudi-led airstrikes despite calls for humanitarian pause

Saudi-led airstrikes have continued in Yemen in efforts to push back Shi’ite Houthi rebels.<br /><br /> But 11 civilians including children were killed in one village near the capital Sanaa, officials say.<br /><br /> The conflict has left many hundreds dead and injured.<br /><br /> Hence Russia and the Red Cross’s call for a pause to allow aid in and help get civilians out. <br /><br /> Moscow appealed to the UN Security Council, currently presided by Jordan.<br /><br /> “The Russian delegation circulated a draft resolution to the council members regarding humanitarian pauses in Yemen and expressed concerns over the humanitarian situation in Yemen since a long time.
