US authorities arrested two New York-area women early on Thursday on charges of plotting to detonate a bomb on US soil, according to an ABC News report.<br /><br />The two women, identified as Noelle Velentzas, 28, and Asia Siddiqui, 31, never presented a threat to the public according to federal authorities.<br /><br />The pair, who lived as roommates in Queens, allegedly attempted to build improvised explosive devices similar to those used during the Boston Marathon bombing using propane tanks.<br /><br />Potential targets considered by the women, who declared themselves “citizens of the Islamic State”, included a police funeral.<br /><br />They are expected to appear in federal court Thursday afternoon.<br /><br />-------------------------------------------------------------<br /><br />Welcome to TomoNews, where we animate the most entertaining news on the internets.
