Barack Obama’s former chief of staff has been re-elected for a second term as Mayor of Chicago.<br /><br /> Rahm Emanuel holds onto his job in the President’s hometown after a run-off vote.<br /><br /> “Being Mayor of the city of Chicago is the greatest job I’ve ever had and the greatest job in the world,” he told supporters. <br /><br /> “I am humbled at the opportunity to continue to serve you, the greatest city with the greatest people, for the next four years.”<br /><br /> It will not be an easy second mandate for Emanuel: there is rising concern about violent crime and Chicago is facing financial difficulties.<br /><br /> Experts say the city’s budget deficit will grow to the equivalent of 1.1 billion euros next year.
