A fatal stabbing spree has five people dead in a residential area of Sumoto, Hyogo Prefecture, Japan.<br /><br />The suspect, a 40-year-old man, used a knife as the murder weapon. <br /><br /><br />In one house he killed three people, stabbing each several times.<br /><br />In the next house, nearby, he killed two more people. <br /><br /><br />The police found the suspect with blood on his clothes, not too far from the crime scenes. He admitted to the crime under interrogation, and was arrested for murder.<br /><br />However, the suspect changed his mind during the investigation and would not talk to police until his lawyer was present; he is now listed as a suspect instead. The investigation is ongoing as police try to understand the motive behind the killing spree.
