Former member of AKB48, a Japanese pop group, Anna Mori, announced that she would be crowdfunding her first photobook by auctioning off three “date coupons” and other opportunities to meet the 20-year-old former pop idol.<br /><br />Mori ‘graduated’ from the all female pop group in 2011 and went on to study childcare.<br /><br />Two years later she’s obtained her degree and is now releasing her first photobook.<br /><br />For USD $400 fans can take a photo with Mori, but the three date coupons have already been purchased, each costing USD $1,600. There are other events up for auction too, such as a luncheon with the all female photobook staff or an opportunity to join Mori during a photoshoot.<br /><br />AKB48 fans seem excited, but this isn’t the first time pop idols have raised money using these methods.
