An oil tanker and a bulk carrier collided near Singapore on Monday, causing an oil spill about 20 kilometres northeast of the island of Pedra Branca.<br /><br />The Libyan-registered Alyarmouk oil tanker was en route to Yangpu, China, when it collided with the Singapore-flagged carrier ship Sinar Kapuas.<br /><br />After the collision, the Alyarmouk sustained damage to one of her cargo tanks, spilling crude into the ocean.<br /><br />The volume of the oil spill was not immediately clear, Reuters reported. <br /><br />The two vessels were removed from the area and are safely now anchored at a harbor.<br /><br />The incident caused no injuries, and traffic in the Strait of Singapore was unaffected.<br /><br />-------------------------------------------------------------<br /><br />Welcome to TomoNews, where we animate the most entertaining news on the internets.
