Iranian aircraft have carried out air strikes against Islamic State (ISIS) militants in eastern Iraq, the Pentagon has said.<br /><br />US officials said the US had indications that Iranian F-4 Phantoms had launched several raids in recent days on Islamic State targets in Diyala Province which borders Iran.<br /><br />An Al-Jazeera cameraman recorded footage of a jet flying over the region that was later identified as an Iranian F-4.<br /><br />This animation introduces the F-4 Phantom and its capabilities<br /><br />The US has a policy against cooperating with Iran but Secretary of State John Kerry said at a meeting of coalition allies that if Iran is attacking the militant group then “the net effect is positive.”<br /><br />Iran has reportedly provide Iraq with aircraft, and strategic advice in its fight against ISIS.<br /><br />Iranian officials have refused to confirm the reports.<br /><br />-------------------------------------------------------------<br /><br />Welcome to TomoNews, where we animate the most entertaining news on the internets.
