You’d think that something as rare as a 13th century Chinese scroll would be transported by armored car or a trusty courier, but prolific art collector Francesco Plateroti liked to do things his way. Unfortunately his way came up short recently after leaving a 13th century Chinese scroll worth one million Euro (1.3 million US dollars) on a train in Europe.<br /><br />Plateroti had just presented the scroll, The Banquet of Immortals on the Terrace of Jade, in Paris and was on his way back to his home near Geneva on the TGV high-speed railway. After alighting, he soon noticed the scroll wasn’t with him and that he had in fact left it on the train. The train was later searched, but but the item was long gone.<br /><br />Of course, a sizable reward is on offer for anyone who knows where the lost artwork might be, but there have been many imposters phoning-in hoping for an easy payoff. Still, Plateroti remains hopeful.
