It seems our racial finger-pointing knows no bounds these days, bleeding over into a Galaxy far away.<br /><br />In the teaser preview for the next movie to the Star Wars epic, Episode VII: The Force Awakens, we see a barren desertscape along with an unhelmeted stormtrooper who happens to be black, played by actor John Boyega. <br /><br />YouTube comments did what they normally do and went totally racist because we live in an age where idiots have cheap internet plans. <br /><br />It seems we need to school everyone out there on the history of diversity within the Star Wars realm. In fact I would gather that there have always been humans of color in the empire’s elite forces, but you may have never really noticed them for obvious reasons. <br /><br />And while most of the troops were clones of Jango Fett, some came from other genetic sources. <br /><br />Really though, as Mel Brooks showed us in 1987, there’s room enough in the galaxy for all colors, right? In the end, it's just a movie, one that won't even hit theaters for another year-plus.
