Mary Barkes of Arlington, Virginia, is a hero.<br /> <br />Mary managed to get out of her house after a fast-moving fire broke out in the early morning hours of Tuesday.<br /> <br />Searching for the rest of her family, she saw her husband Bill and their 11-year-old daughter, Sarah, climbing out of a second floor window via a ladder. But the ladder slipped, and Bill and Sarah tumbled to the ground.<br /> <br />Bill and Sarah were injured, but alive. Mary, however, quickly realized that her 7-year-old, Emily, was still inside the burning house.<br /> <br />Rescue services were on their way, but Mary had to get her little girl. She ran straight into the raging inferno of heat and flames.
