A driver died Sunday night when he slammed into a horse, and then hit a pole and a fence in northwest Houston, killing the animal.<br /><br />Around 8 p.m. in the Acres Home area a red Chevrolet Tahoe was traveling westbound on the 900 block of West Little York near Knox street. <br /><br />The driver of the SUV, whose name was not released, failed to control his speed and rammed into a man riding a horse who also was headed in the same direction. <br /><br />The vehicle hit the animal and dragged it about a 100 feet before smashing into a chain-link metal fence and then a wooden pole. <br /><br />The rider was thrown from the horses back before being dragged by the SUV. <br /><br />The animal died at the scene and the two men were rushed to two different hospitals. <br /><br />The SUV driver, died at LBJ General Hospital, but the horse rider is currently recovering at Ben Taub General Hospital with non-life threatening injuries.<br /><br /><br />-------------------------------------------------------------<br /><br />Welcome to TomoNews, where we animate the most entertaining news on the internets.
