2015-04-24 6 Dailymotion

In-depth reports and analysis from our extensive network of correspondents throughout the region on the most important developments in Latin America. Today we visit one of the largest schools in Peru, where close to 2,000 students study from the first to the eleventh grade. Known only by it’s number – 7091-- the school is located in the Villa El Salvador district of southern Lima, where extreme poverty and gang violence makes getting an education difficult. Classes are held in an old building where there’s no electricity and the chairs and tables are falling apart. Besides attending classes, many students work to help support their families and may not have enough food. Even so, some dream of going to a university and landing a good job when they get out. teleSUR
