Anti-Kremlin activist Alexei Navalny’s Party of Progress has had its legal registration cancelled, the Russian Justice Ministry reports. It says the party failed to register its regional branches on time.<br /><br /> Navalny had planned to join forces with another anti-government party ahead of the 2016 parliamentary elections.<br /><br /> His intended ally was RPR Parnas – led by Boris Nemtsov until his murder in February. The Party of Progress made plans for a coalition after the fatal shooting.<br /><br /> Navalny says “the Party of Progress will stay as a political structure.”
