toya graham is the baltimore-based mother who gained international acclaim for hitting her son on camera, when she found out he was part of the 'riots'. i do not doubt that she loves her son; however, she is being exhalted and used by capitalist media to show an example of a good slave, putting her disobedient son in check. both toya and her son are clearly frustrated and upset by what happened to freddie gray (and police brutality in general). what both need to do is organize (which includes political education) to assure the destructive institution is uprooted. how they choose to do that is on them; it just needs to be done.
