The FBI is working with the Anne Arundel County Police Department to find a man suspected of murdering his wife at a Dunkin Donuts on April 12.

Investigators from both units announced a $20,0000 reward for anyone with information on the suspect’s whereabouts.

Police say 24-year-old Bhadreshkumar Patel is likely responsible for the gruesome death of his wife Palak.

Authorities say the couple had a row at the Dunkin Donuts where they both worked, before Patel struck his wife in the face with a large kitchen knife.

Initial reports suggested Patel used a machete to murder his wife.

“That’s incorrect,” Anne Arundel County spokesman T.J. Smith told WBALTV. “The knife was a part of the business.”

Police arrived at the Dunkin Donuts on Arundel Mills Boulevard roughly 20 minutes after the murder. A customer had called to say the store was open but there was no one behind the counter.

Police found Palak Patel dead in the kitchen area. An affidavit filed Monday described the the scene as remnants of “a gruesome crime.” The suspect had already fled the scene.

Police suspect Patel went to his nearby apartment to collect his India-issued passport.

A cab driver says she picked up Patel soon after and drove him to a Best Western in Newark New Jersey, close to Newark International Airport.

The government issued a stop on Patel’s passport, and authorities do not believe he left the country.

The last anyone saw of him was at Penn Station in Newark. The FBI released photos from a security camera that show Patel standing at a booth, looking over his shoulder. It is unclear whether the footage was taken at Penn Station or at the Best Western.

“We’re looking for the public to call with tips so we can get Mr. Patel in custody, before he harms anyone else,” said Baltimore FBI Agent Steve Vogt.

-------------------------------------------------------------

Welcome to TomoNews, where we animate the most entertaining news on the internets.
