Check out our official website: http://us.tomonews.net/<br />Check out our Android app: http://goo.gl/PtT6VD<br />Check out our iOS app: http://bit.ly/1gO3z1f<br /><br />------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------<br /><br />A Georgia family says a SWAT team raided the home they were sleeping in during the night and seriously injured their 19-month-old son after a stun grenade exploded in his face. <br /><br />Alecia Phonesavanh said her child is at the Grady Memorial Hospital burn unit in a medically induced coma.<br /><br />The Phonesavanh family were staying at their sister-in-law's house in Cornelia on Wednesday.<br /><br />Police said deputies had bought drugs from the house and came back with a no-knock warrant to arrest a man known to have drugs and weapons.<br /><br />Cornelia Police Chief Rick Darby confirmed that the raid took place just before 3am.<br /><br />Upon entering the premises, the SWAT police threw a stun grenade that landed right in the child's playpen and exploded on the toddler's pillow right in his face.<br /><br />Police arrested Wanis Thometheva during the raid. The Phonesavanh family have no insurance and have set up a fund to pay for the child's medical expenses.
