Cheng reportedly sent his driver to pick up the car after its annual maintenance check. The driver was on his way back to Cheng's residence when he saw smoke coming out from the hood. The driver pulled over to inspect the car but the car caught on fire. He called firefighters, who were able to put out the fire in 10 minutes. But by this time the front end of the car had been destroyed by the blaze.
