Part of the arrest was captured on video by family members on March 21. <br /><br />Officers responded to a call from Mario Crump's family who reported him acting strangely and requested that he be removed from the house around 11:30pm. The 30-second video shows the officers beating the 47-year-old as he kicks them in an attempt to resistant. <br /><br />"Just go with them, Mario," say family members heard urging him to comply with authorities. "Mario, just cooperate." <br /><br />The officers spent 15 to 20 minutes at the Crump household and stopped their use of force upon Crump's eventual compliance.<br /><br />Crump has been diagnosed with schizophrenia and bipolar disorder. "At 11:30 at night, when you call 911, there aren't any psychologists coming," said Police Chief Sam Dotson in an interview. <br /><br />Crump has been charged with resisting arrest and two counts of third-degree assault on a law enforcement officer. He has more than 20 prior arrests including several assault charges.
