Police sex: cops in Hawaii fight to preserve law that allows them to have sex with prostitutes

2015-05-12 22 Dailymotion

Hawaii police are fighting local lawmakers to preserve a legal exemption that allows them to have sex with prostitutes during investigations.

Yes, you read that right. Cops in Hawaii can sleep with prostitutes while on the job. And Hawaii is apparently the only state in the Union which lets this happen.

The issue came about last month when lawmakers, looking to strengthen anti-prostitution laws, proposed a bill which would remove the police exemption. The police argued against the change, which was subsequently amended to return the protection, then passed by the state House.

The state Senate's Judiciary Committee will vote on the amended measure on March 28. The new proposal is something of a compromise that allows police officers to touch prostitutes, but not penetrate them, as long as they are adults.

Opponents of the law claim that allowing police to have sex with prostitutes is unnecessary and only creates opportunities for abuse of power.
