48 million dollars worth of cocaine wash ashore upon a Japanese beach

In the early morning hours of November 19th, a 74 year old man discovered several sacks that had washed ashore on the coast of Yokosuka, Kanagawa, Japan. He immediately informed the police.<br /><br />The four sacks contained approximately 80kg of cocaine in all, with a street value of about 48 million US dollars.<br /><br />40kg of cocaine were reportedly found in the coast close to the premises of the Japanese Self-Defense Force base in Yokosuka and again in Hayama, a town next to Yokosuka. <br /><br />Police added that the cocaine that washed ashore were highly believed to be from a crime syndicate's oversea delivery failure.
