Originally published on November 14, 2013

Google-owned Motorola Mobility has recently filed a patent for an electronic skin tattoo whose functions range from picking up phones to detecting lies.

Approximately the size of a band-aid, the tattoo is complete with a microphone, a transceiver, and its own power source. It sticks directly onto the neck, where it readily pick up the throat's vibrations, even in noisy environments.

The tattoo's patent description states that it can be programmed to respond to a user's vocal intonation, and to specific words or melodies, and then transfer specific commands to phones, tablets, and gaming devices through Bluetooth-like signals.

This Google tattoo can even detect lies by sensing conductivity changes in the user's skin. "It is contemplated that a user that may be nervous or engaging in speaking falsehoods may exhibit different galvanic skin response than a confident, truth telling individual," Motorola writes in its patent application.

--------------------------------------------------------

TomoNews is your daily source for top animated news.
