Sign up for a free trial of News Direct's animated news graphics at http://newsdirect.nma.com.tw/Reuters.aspx<br /><br />A violent explosion on the campus of Nyack College, north of New York City, left seven people injured on Tuesday. <br /><br />Authorities suspect the explosion at the historic Sky Island Lodge was caused by a natural gas leak.<br /><br />The campus was relatively empty, but two students, one of whom was taking a make-up test, and five staff members were reported injured.<br /><br />The explosion happened around noon, blowing out windows and sending glass and shrapnel sailing.<br /><br />The blast reportedly sent one student out a second-story window.<br /><br />A fire alarm inside the building triggered the first emergency response.<br /><br />The first people to arrive on the scene described smelling gas fumes and seeing a haze of dust.<br /><br />None of the injuries are believed to be life threatening, according to a Reuters report.
