Originally published on October 27, 2013<br /><br /><br />Five people were killed and one critically injured in a violent stabbing in New York on Saturday, according to a New York Times report.<br /><br />The incident happened at a residence in Brooklyn's Sunset Park neighbourhood.<br /><br />Preliminary reports identified the suspect as a relative of the victims, a 37-year-old woman and her four young children.<br /><br />Police responded to reports of the stabbing around 11pm.<br /><br />Three of the children, one of whom was a toddler, were already dead when paramedics arrived.<br /><br />The mother and an 8-year-old boy were rushed to a nearby hospital, but succumbed to their injuries.<br /><br />All five of the victims had stab wounds to their upper bodies, according to a report by CNN citing New York police.<br /><br />Police did not immediately release details of the identities of the victims and the suspect.<br /><br />The suspect is currently in police custody, but official charges have yet to be filed, according to CNN.<br /><br />--------------------------------------------------------<br /><br />TomoNews is your daily source for top animated news.
