Originally published on July 23, 2013 <br /><br />Turkish national athlete Murat Karabas was killed in a construction accident on July 22. It was reported that Karabas was working in an 8.5-meter deep and 1-meter wide hole in a school in Ortakent, Bodrum when a collapse occurred on site. He was found dead after being trapped under the rubble. <br /><br />According to local media, the 29-year-old athlete recently applied to become a physical education teacher and he had been working in construction with his brother. He was also engaged a month ago before the accident.
