A police officer was killed after being hit by an SUV while on the scene of a drunk driving offence in Phoenix, Arizona on Sunday. The incident took place at about 3:30 a.m. near 51st Avenue and Thomas Road. It was reported that the victim and other officers were investigating a DUI. Just as he was concluding the routine stop, he was stuck by a dark green SUV. The vehicle then fled the scene.
