<p> <br /><b>TRAVEL CHANNEL: MILLION DOLLAR YACHTS PART 3 OF 3</b> <br /><br /><b>Octopus, currently the world's fifth largest superyacht, is owned by Paul Allen,</b> and the second largest not owned by a head of state. Octopus is measured at 414 feet (126.18 meters) and was delivered in 2003 to its owner, Paul Allen. <br /><br />Octopus sports three helicopters on the top deck (one in front and two on the back), and a sixty-three foot (19 m) tender docked in the transom (one of seven aboard). Octopus also has a pool on board located aft on one of her upper decks. She was supposed to have a submarine on board, but one was never delivered. <br /><br /><b>She also has a remote control submarine for studying the bottom of the ocean.</b> Side hatches at the water line form a dock for jet skis. <br /><br />She was designed by Espen Øino Naval Architects and built by the German shipbuilder Lürssen in Bremen and HDW in Kiel. Her hull is made of steel. <br /><br />Paul Allen also owns two other yachts, Tatoosh and Méduse. <br /><br />Guests include EU commissioner for Trade, Peter Mandelson, who enjoyed New Years 2004/05 on the yacht. <br /></p><p></p>
