Personally, however, he was emotionally exhausted and his impending divorce added to his world-weariness. <br /> <br />The tracks he recorded for the album were not inspired and the heavy-handed overdubs amplified his lack of enthusiasm: the LP "Raised On Rock" was deemed underwhelming upon its release. <br /> <br />In the years since his death, the original undubbed tapes have surfaced and have revealed several touching and honest performances. <br /> <br />Complied here as a more low-key and listenable album (with an occasional overdub and tweak) these tapes offer a better view of Elvis' artistry during this period.
