A firecracker ban in Davao City has reached its 12th year. <br /><br />Police said they caught three people violating the firecracker ban while two more were caught using firearms indiscriminately. <br /><br />Since the imposition of the ban, the number of firecracker-related injuries in Davao City has dropped to less than 5 every year. <br /><br />One of the latest victims is a 14-year-old boy who was injured after picking up a piccolo. <br /><br />Instead of firecrackers, authorities are encouraging residents to blow horns during the Torotot Festival on from December 31 to January 1. <br /><br />ABS-CBN Umagang Kay Ganda, December 27, 2013
