While Yemenis deal with the aftermath of airstrikes by Saudi-led coalition forces, the government in exile said the Houthi militia was in talks with the US in Oman, a sign that a diplomatic solution could be on the horizon.<br /><br /> If confirmed, the meeting would be the first between the Houthis and US since the start of the conflict.<br /><br /> The weekend raids struck an air base near Sana’a airport and a Houthi aligned military installation. One resident near the site of one of the airstrikes said that several bombardments were felt which led them to flee and left everyone in a state of shock.<br /><br /> On Saturday, dozens of Yemenis took part in a protest calling for an end to the Saudi-led airstrikes. <br /><br /> Nearly 2,000 people have been killed and over 8,000 wounded in the conflict since mid-March.
