Angra (qui est le nom de la déesse du feu dans la mythologie brésilienne et signifie en portugais « baie » ou « ouverture » au sens élargi) est un groupe de power metal progressif brésilien mélodique et symphonique créé en 1992. Toujours en activité, le groupe a perdu trois de ses membres originaux en 2000, remplacés en 2001. <br /> Histoire <br />Le tout premier line-up d'Angra est constitué d'Andre Matos (chant, ex-Viper), Rafael Bittencourt (guitare), Kiko Loureiro (guitare), Luis Mariutti (basse) et Marco Antunes (batterie). Ce dernier quittera le groupe dès 1992. Le batteur Ricardo Confessori (ex-Korzus) n'intégrera le groupe qu'après l'enregistrement du premier album, Angels Cry (enregistré par un batteur de session, Alex Holzwarth, actuel batteur de Rhapsody of Fire).
