We start with the latest on the outbreak of Middle East Respiratory Syndrome, or MERS that has had Korea on edge for nearly a month now.<br />The government maintains the outbreak is slowing, but public fear is lingering as the number of cases and deaths continues to rise, affecting more regions nationwide.<br />Health authorities continue to face challenges after reports Tuesday of the deaths of a patient in their 40s and other patients who did not have any pre-existing conditions.<br />And this contradicts the theory that the virus is only seriously dangerous to those who are elderly or in poor health.<br />Amid the growing concerns, the World Health Organization held its ninth emergency meeting with Korean health authorities through video conference on Tuesday.<br />During the meeting, officials were updated on the latest situation and they discussed measures to better tackle the outbreak.<br />The WHO will announce the result of the meeting later today. <br />As of now, 19 people in Korea have died in the largest outbreak of the MERS virus outside the Middle East, while one-hundred-54 have been infected.<br />Nearly 56-hundred people are in quarantine after coming into contact with MERS patients.
