It’s Alive! Philae comet probe wakes up after 7 months

2015-07-17 1 Dailymotion

The Philae comet lander has woken up after 7 months. In November it was taken to the 67P comet by the Rosetta spacecraft ... and then lost contact with Earth. The spacecraft that took the lander there travelled for 10 years through the stars to reach the celestial body 500 million miles away. The landing was the first controlled landing on a comet ever. It's hoped the mission will provide understanding of how the Earth was formed, and the origins of life.
