A week of good news for Huawei. The company reported its global smartphone sales jumped by 39 percent in the first half of the year.<br /><br /> The results come just two days after the world’s fourth biggest smartphone maker posted a 30 percent growth in overall revenue.<br /><br /> The Chinese tech giant said it shipped 48.2 million devices globally in the first half of 2015 which translates to a huge 87 percent surge in handset sales revenues.<br /><br /> The company doubled its revenue in China and is now on the tail of Apple.<br /><br /> But the US giant still reigns supreme in China where sales of the iPhone gave a leg up to Apple’s revenue in the quarter ending in June and now make up over 25 percent of the company’s global business.<br /><br /> Apple reported another jump in profits with sales of the iPhone up 35 percent from a year ago topping the 47 million mark worldwide.<br /><br /> Profits rose 38 percent to 10.7 billion dollars while revenue was up 33 percent to 49.6 billion dollars.
