Air strikes hit Yemen hours before five-day truce comes into force

Warplanes have carried out airstrikes near the Yemeni capital Sana’a. The raid on the Houthi-controlled city comes hours before a truce will come into force.<br /><br /> At least 120 people have been killed by the raids.<br /><br /> Declared by the Saudi-led coalition the 5-day ceasefire is due to come into force at midnight Sunday, with the aim of allowing crucial humanitarian aid to be delivered.<br /><br /> In a country of 25 million people, aid agencies say now 80 percent are in need of some form of aid.<br /><br /> The Saudi-led coalition has been bombing Houthi fighters allied to former president Ali Abdullah Saleh since March 26.<br /><br /> The UN children’s agency says at least 365 children have been killed, and 485 have been injured since the raids began.
