For the first time in Indonesia's democratic history the country has a President who is not from the military or political elite.<br /><br />Jokowi Widodo has been declared the winner. He secure 53 percent of the vote-- 8 million more votes than his rival Prabowo Subianto.<br /><br />Rebecca Henschke in Jakarta reports that many see this is as a turning point for the country.
