Malaysia Airlines (MAS) today denied speculations that it had turned down pilots' proposals for alternative routes avoiding the troubled eastern Ukraine region, prior to the downing of Flight MH17.<br /><br />MAS director of operations Izham Ismail said there were never such proposals from its pilots.<br /><br />He adds that MAS did not make a mistake in keeping the route, as it's own threat analysis had shown that it was safe.
