Selangor Menteri Besar Abdul Khalid Ibrahim said that the disruption of a Hindu wedding by the Selangor Islamic Affairs Department (Jais) was "embarrassing" and had "spoiled" the festivity.<br /><br />Jais had halted a wedding at a temple in Petaling Jaya because the bride, Zarina Abdullah Majid had a muslim name. Zarina has claimed that she was born and raised as a hindu but her name was changed by her estranged father who had converted to Islam.<br /><br />Khalid has come to the defence of Zarina and has offered assistance for her to settle the issue with the National Registration Department.
