Energy, Green Technology and Water Minister Maximus Ongkili today defended Putrajaya's decision to award a power plant project to 1Malaysia Development Bhd (1MDB), stating that it was done via competitive bidding.<br /><br />He says the the other short listed bidder, YTL Power International Bhd, had failed to fulfil requirements that the technology used for the project must be tried and tested.
