Port Klang recorded a very unhealthy Air Pollutant Index (API) reading on Thursday, according to the Department of Environment (DOE). <br /><br />As of 5 pm, the API registered 233. <br /><br />13 other areas recorded an unhealthy air quality.<br /><br />Among them Banting 189, followed by Kuala Selangor 179.<br /><br />Whileb te readings at Putrajaya is 168. Batu, Kuala Lumpur -163 and Petaling Jaya - 159.<br /><br />The API reading in several districts in Negri Sembilan also deteriorated to unhealthy levels due to a combination of factors including the prolonged dry spell and fires.<br /><br />API readings of between 0-50 are considered good, moderate (51-100), unhealthy (101-200), very unhealthy (201-300) and dangerous (exceeding 301). <br /><br />Meanwhile Kinitv random survey at the Kuala Lumpur International airport KLIA shows that it was covered with thick haze and limited visibility.
