It's been 13 years since the unmistakeable sound of a dial-up modem was replaced by the silence of broadband connection to the internet.<br /><br />In that relatively short period of time the internet was transformed from an electronic mail and casual surfing tool to an intense multimedia experience.<br /><br />Two of the early experimenters and pioneers, N Azman Yusoff of the former Cyberjaya.tv and Kamarul Muhamed who operated Malaysia.tv during those early days, takes us back to the early years.<br /><br />We speak to Premesh Chandran, Malaysiakini.com's chief executive who saw online video as a means to reach a section of the community who would be better served with news in an audio-visual format.<br /><br />And we speak also to Jahabar Sadiq, CEO of The Malaysian Insider to find out why he has so far not offered video news for his readers.<br /><br />Video by Shufiyan Shukur
