Minister: BR1M handouts not in correlation with number of poor

The number of those receiving BR1M (Bantuan Rakyat 1Malaysia) has spiked this year despite the drop in the number of hardcore poor.<br /><br />Deputy Finance Minister Ahmad Maslan says the increase is due to the new groups added to the program.
