The High Court hearing the defamation suit<br />filed by Penang Umno liaison chairman Zainal Abidin Osman against Chief<br />Minister Lim Guan Eng was told today that Lim's action in issuing false<br />statement was meant to tarnish Umno's image.<br />Zainal Abidin, 52, said that the articles which were published in Keadilan<br />Daily on July 3 last year and in Suara Keadilan, on July 5 last year, were also<br />meant to show that Umno was a party with no ethic and principle for supporting<br />an action which could lead to violence.<br /><br />(Extract from Bernama report)
